Using alphaPDF
Terms of Use
These terms form an agreement between you and Marc Didavi trading as Maskia, a UK-based independent software business. By installing or purchasing alphaPDF, you agree to them.
1. The service
alphaPDF is a browser-based PDF toolkit. It is not Adobe Acrobat, is not affiliated with Adobe and does not provide an Adobe-compatible certificate-signing or managed electronic-signature service.
2. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use alphaPDF on devices you control, subject to your purchased entitlement. You may not resell or share access, circumvent access controls, distribute modified copies or use the service unlawfully.
3. Pro purchase
Pro is a one-time purchase with no recurring charge. It includes the Pro tools listed when you buy. Purchased capabilities do not expire while alphaPDF remains supported, and normal security, defect and browser-compatibility fixes preserve the entitlement. Substantial future modules or services may be optional paid additions.
A purchase can be active on up to three installations you control. Recovery lets you replace an old installation. Fraud, chargebacks, licence sharing, security threats or a material breach may result in suspension or revocation.
4. Your documents
You retain ownership of your documents and are responsible for lawful use, reviewing output and keeping backups. Local extension storage is not a backup service. Removing alphaPDF or clearing browser data may delete locally stored documents and drafts.
5. Payments and tax
Checkout is provided through Stripe Managed Payments. Link acts as merchant of record for the transaction and handles payment, applicable indirect taxes and transaction support in the jurisdictions it covers. The checkout page shows the final total and merchant details before purchase. Maskia supplies and supports alphaPDF. There is no recurring charge for the initial Pro offer.
6. Updates and availability
We may update alphaPDF for security, compatibility or product improvement. We may discontinue features or the product where reasonably necessary. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. If the activation service is permanently discontinued, Maskia will use the documented entitlement wind-down process to preserve legitimate purchased access where reasonably possible.
7. Important document warning
Review every generated file before relying on it. alphaPDF is not legal, compliance, archival or professional advice. Use appropriate independent validation for regulated, court, evidentiary, accessibility or security-critical documents.
8. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, alphaPDF is provided without implied warranties beyond rights that cannot legally be excluded. Maskia is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data or lost profits. Aggregate liability relating to alphaPDF will not exceed the amount you paid for it in the preceding 12 months. Nothing excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
